  Cinderford and Lydney shared a hall in Parkend, Lydney, Gloucestershire. Cinderford was the smaller of the two and has been disbanded among Lydney and Ross-on-Wye.

  It is reported that the brother announcing it cried when on the platform."

  MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:

  During a "passing" visit from an elder & his wife last week, she commented that "possible changes were coming to "our congregation." and she hoped that they weren't going to have to join up with a congregation just a few miles away!

  I'd bet on it - knowing what the local congregation's elders' view regarding the Org's "money" situation appears to be!!

  The Org's "master plan" will pick up speed. Watch this space.

  Don't you remember the Bible example of the Good Samaritan? (Luke 10)

  Have you forgotten how he got down on his hands and knees at the seriously injured man's side, and pulled out the Pentateuch to offer some healing words to him - to help him realise he was in the wrong religion?

  That Samaritan certainly gave J.W.'s a great example on how to show true humanity and love of neighbour!

  Welcome Lost and Adrift. My heart goes out to you and your beloved partner. I pray for these evil scum-bags to have their little worlds collapse when their "gods" in Brooklyn really start turning the knife in them. They deserve nothing but bad in their lives because of their evil.

  I hope many lurkers read your post and perhaps save themselves the heartache you've experienced, simply by following this advice which I'm going to SHOUT out -

  NEVER AGREE TO MEET WITH & TALK TO TWO OR MORE APPOINTED MEN!

  Why voluntarily walk into a lion's den, when you know that the outcome is a foregone conclusion?

  Ask what the reason for the "chat" is, then politely but firmly decline the offer to talk, thanking them for the invitation; "Not at the moment thanks, but I'll let you know."

  If they threaten to deal with you in your absence, respond by promising them that you will seek legal redress against the local Body of Elders/Trustees - via the courts/Charities Commission/Human Rights respecting your privacy, data protection, and human rights, if your name is publicly announced (for any reason) within their Kingdom Hall - a venue which is open to all members of the public and is subject to the Charities Commission's laws & regulations!

  Potential victims have absolutely nothing to lose by having such a lawyer's letter sent to these reptiles!

  i am new to the boards, so a little background info may be a good idea?

  also, i'm not quite sure which sub-forum to post this to....

  i have a typical religious background for my country; grew up with lutheran christianity (which was our state religion up until 2012; we now have a secular constitution).

  The bottom line? Here's exactly what it is: be prepared to disregard any/all opinions voiced when having important questions answered, because,

  a) many J.W'.s either aren't aware of the Org's official response,

  b) they will want to tell you what they think you'll want to hear - in order to keep you on board, or

  c) their thinking on certain topics doesn't agree with the Org's.

  As an elder said to me yesterday regarding J.W. topics on the internet, "I get it straight from the horse's mouth, by going to the Org's own website." He even went so far as to say that his body of elders will automatically tell someone to report a paedophile to the police - but would also ask Bethel for advice!

  My response was to tell him that the Org will not tell him everything he has a right to know about, such as millions of dollars being handed out to paedophile victims, the A.R.C., etc.

  A J.W.'s personal thoughts are neither here nor there - telephone the Branch Office/search the WT CD ROM, and get the official answers to your questions, then confront your study conductors with the real facts.

  J.W.'s are generally Org-deluded or self-deluded - or both. Whatever the case, they accept it unquestioningly.

  example: it-1 p. 319 birthday - ".....there is no indication in the scriptures that faithful worshipers of jehovah ever indulged in the pagan practice of annually celebrating birthdays.

  the bible makes direct reference to only two birthday celebrations, those of pharaoh of egypt and herod antipas.

  So much for 2 Corinthians 9:7 - "Let each one do just as he has resolved in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

  Any J.W. who does not reduce or cease donating to the Org after hearing about this latest Publisher Tax, deserves no sympathy whatsoever for being bled by the parasitic leeches in Brooklyn.

  The hardest thing to do is get a J.W. to "step outside" the J.W. box for 5 minutes.

  I told an elder & his wife today about the Australian Royal Commission. Reaction? "Even government agencies will lie!!"
